The Humberg Tower
The Humberg Tower is the silent emblem of the city. The beautiful observation tower on the hill of the Great Humberg belongs to the city just as the high city hall and the footballers of the 1.FCK do. Many citizens have grown fond of it.
It was built between 1898 and 1900 by the Humberg Association. The stone observation tower is almost 36m (118 ft.) high, 163 steps lead up to a height of around 452 m (1487 ft.) above sea level, to a great view over the Palatinate Forest, the Northern Palatinate Hill Country, the hills of the Donnersberg and Potzberg.
The Humberg Tower Association of Kaiserslautern is engaged in the preservation and visibility of the splendid observation tower and its attractiveness as a destination for days out and hiking.
Way markers, information boards, rest benches, tables, guided hikes and events around the tower are examples of the work of the association to date and are at the same time motivation for further tasks. You can support the association in its activities and aims. Become a member of the Humberg Zower Association of Kaiserslautern.
